Well, we're here at the end of the year, most of us anyhow. It's not been good by any strectch of the imagination and many people have lost family and friends this year to the pandemic. People have also lost their jobs and sources of income as well. Businesses have closed and some are on the verge of closing down. This is due to the economic impact of what governments have been doing at home and abroad. Some are making wise descisions while others don't seem to know what to do.
As bad as it has all been, don't be fooled for a minute thinking that when we wake up tomorrow, in 2021, that everything will have magically been fixed. It won't. The pandemic will still be here and we'll still be working hard to get people the vaccines so we can begin to get this virus under control. The negative impact of the economy in 2020 will carry on in 2021 and it will take a while to recover from.
Despite all of that, those of us who remain will perservere and continue to tackle the problems of society day by day until they're under control. All we can do regardless of the problems we face is to keep putting one foot in front of the other. Take life day by day and handle the problems one at a time. As the saying goes, 'slow and steady wins the race.'
So when you wake up tomorrow hit the ground running just like you did yesterday. Keep in mind that our problems are still here and that we need to continue working on them. Don't allow yourself to become overwhelemed with all the terrible things going on and only worry about those things for which you have control over. Worrying over things you have no control over is a waste of time and energy becuase you cannot control it's outcome. Focus on what you can have an impact on and work towards those goals.
Remember, one foot in front of the other. One day at a time.
